Daisy Pruitt
Daisy Pruitt was grateful to have the support of a loving family and home health services that enabled her to remain living in her own home. But, there came a time when her medical needs required more constant attention. Having always been an independent woman, the prospect of Daisy moving to a nursing home was devastating to her and her family.
However, armed with her faith and personal strength, Daisy committed to the move, looking it at as a chance to relax and accept the help and support of others for a while. Contrary to their initial expectations, Daisy and her children soon realized the positive aspects to nursing home care.
Daisy enjoys rewarding relationships with the staff, and can often be found helping friends and neighbors at the nursing home. She has made great progress in her health since arriving at the nursing home, and she says her positive attitude and will to recover is why she can now look forward to returning home soon.

Rose Mackey
After caring for her husband in their home, Rose Mackey made the transition from being a caregiver to needing care herself. Following a three-month hospital stay, Rose came to the realization that not only was she no longer able to take care of her husband, but that she required the services of a nursing home.
Rose's positive attitude about the circumstances of her life motivated her to approach her move to a nursing home as a chance to put aside the burdens of day to day chores, and to have the independence to pursue the hobbies and interests that she was passionate about. Rose is active in many events and activities both in and outside of the nursing home.
Rose's room in a New York City nursing home provides her with a view of the city that has become the inspiration for her painting. She says painting is her way of "stopping the world" and expressing her creativity with the paint and brush. Since moving to the nursing home, Rose is living an active, involved, and interesting life -- to her, this is the ultimate in independence.
